Consultation on the European tourism of the future
Tourism is the 3rd largest economic sector in the EU after trade & distribution and construction. Despite increasing competition, the EU managed so far to remain the world's n°1 tourist destination. Its tourism industry however is confronted with various changes in the EU and the rest of the world - see description in downloadable file below. These (will) have a major impact on the structure of the tourism sector and its activities.

Gothenburg is the new Access City Award Winner 2014
On the occasion of the European Day for people with disabilities (3 December) the European Commission announced that Gothenburg is the winner of the Access City Award 2014. The Award recognises Gothenburg's outstanding work towards increasing accessibility for disabled people and the elderly. The 2014 Award is organised by the European Commission together with the European Disability Forum, and is presented in Brussels during the event ''Accessible Tourism in Europe'' on the occasion of the annual European Day of People with Disabilities and the European Tourism Day. The Award aims to encourage cities with at least 50,000 inhabitants to share their experience and to improve accessibility for the benefit of all.

Future of Cities Forum - Hambourg, 6th September 2013

This Forum brings together 150 mayors, city planners, scientists and representatives of civil society and the private sector to discuss key challenges for future urban development. ENAT Short Survey: Skills and Training Requirements for Accessible Tourism
ENAT and its partners, VVA, 3S Laboratory and Via Libre, have been commissioned to carry out a study on Training and Skills Requirements for Accessible Tourism in Europe. The study has been requested by the European Commission DG Enterprise and Industry, Tourism and Cultural Instruments Unit.
